POLAR STAR methodology and materials

The POLAR STAR methodology has two main strands: a) Science as a whole and b) STEAM education. 'Science as a Whole' is mainly concerned with the content of science education itself and proposes an holistic interdisciplinary approach that aims to increase students' knowledge retention and enable them to build a meaningful knowledge structure starting from the fundamental big ideas of science and moving on to less abstract and more focused concepts. 'STEAM education' focuses on how we teach the science concepts and proposes a STEAM methodology that aims to serve the needs of students with different interests and learning styles. The two strands are presented below separately and come together again as a uniform methodology in the training materials section. In that section you will find training materials for our methodology which you can use on your own or in your school, collaboratively with your colleagues. In the Assessment toolkit section you will find tools that will help you assess your students progress.
