Call for schools

In order to become a POLAR STAR school you will need to integrate the POLAR STAR methodology in your school. More specifically, you will have to choose and do one or more of the following:

 - Test the 'Science as a whole' approach to create an Interdisciplinary framework in your lessons and use the Science WAND tool with your students; 

- Test the STEAM methodology in your class; 

- Implement at least one activity from the POLAR STAR kit of activities.

The  POLAR STAR methodology is designed so that all proposed changes are integrated in your every day teaching. This means that in order to implement  POLAR STAR you DO NOT need any extra teaching hours. You may need some time however to implement one of the activities of the POLAR STAR kit. The amount of time is totally up to you, depending on how much you want to put in your project and how comfortable you fill with the use of the tool you will choose.

You will need to get some training in order to familiarize yourself with our methodology. You can do your training online by following the videos designed by our team.

Nope!  POLAR STAR is offered to teachers without any cost.

Certification is available for  POLAR STAR schools. In order to reach the certification you need to complete the implementation: 

- Test the 'Science as a whole' approach to create an Interdisciplinary framework in your lessons and use the Science WAND tool with your students; 

- Test the STEAM methodology in your class; 

- Implement at least one activity from the POLAR STAR kit of activities;

- Use at least one of our assessment tools;

After receiving your certification, you can also send the list of students with whom you worked, so that they receive their POLAR STAR student certification as well. Furthermore, if you work with a minimum of 3 teachers from your school and establish a collaborative framework in the implementation of the POLAR STAR materials, you can also apply to receive a POLAR STAR School certification.
